Art of Deception

Hungry for power. Abuse. Fear.
It’s dissipating like a virus
Plaguing our chaste purpose
The more we try to curb the infection
The more we are infected
Stealth dispersion of infliction.
We are downtrodden
We are doomed
We become victims.

Abuse of power. Fear.
They spread like wildfire
And we are burning
What’s the use of our struggle?
Indeed, we are but lowly servants
But do we all not serve the commoner?
Do they not adhere to protecting morals?
Do we not deserve fair treatment?
This disease is corrupting our system

Their hunger for power, invective,
Jeopardizing us, the puny,
And we are left petrified-
We become the collateral devastation,
And yet those ignoramuses only listen
To modernized art of deception,
To fables, their eyes
Are  covered with false pledges,
Their mouths gagged with banknotes.
