Maybe I desired to fall in love with
and be loved by a poet
because I want to read myself in his poetry
how he sees me,
how he adores me,
how he loves me madly;
Maybe it was my desire to be loved by a poet
because I want to feel the true and pure love
that only a poet can give to his lover;
Maybe it was my dream to be loved by a poet
because I want to dwell in his mind
as long as he can remember;
Maybe it was my dream to be loved by a poet
because I want my name to be carved
in his heart until eternity;
Maybe it was my dream to be loved by a poet
because I can be sure that his love
will not fade and falter till the end;
Maybe it was my greatest dream to be loved by a poet
because I want to know,
I want to see,
I want to feel what it’s like to be loved forever…
because
only then you can never die
when a poet loves you deeply.
